The main issues we found with the Black Ridge is motherboard compatibility and that it doesn’t include a motherboard backplate for the mounting. This means the screws make direct contact with the motherboard PCB, so we used the the backplate included with the Thermalright AXP90 mounting kit to avoid potential damage to motherboard PCB. This also provides consistent mounting pressure for the cooler.
